5 Pieces of Furniture That Look Good in Every Home

Since the world is essentially shut down, I have had time to come back to this blog. I am so grateful to have quality time with my son and husband, but of course wish the circumstances were different.

Here are my 5 favorite pieces of furniture that look great in any style home.

1. Chesterfield Sofas

Gorgeous but a little outside of my budget at $7599

I adore chesterfield sofas. Whether you are looking for a budget sofa like the Logue Chesterfield from Wayfair (just $390) or a slightly more expensive leather version (like the Eleanor Rigby Leather Company
Zayden Chesterfield Leather Sofajust $7599 😂) chesterfields look amazing in any home. Add one in your living room or office for a classic silhouette in any style home.

2. Bold Accent Chairs

Accent chairs are not just for living rooms. They look great in a play room, as an extra seat around the table, or as a chic seat in a master bedroom. Regardless of your style, accent chairs are typically inexpensive and bring a lot of style.

A few of my favorites:

3. Eclectic End Tables

End tables are great because they are easy to thrift, easy to makeover, and can go in many different rooms. Maybe you like something quirky, like the Pavo Side Table ($398), or something modern like the Calo Side Table ($148) – both styles can be thrifted or DIY-ed on the cheap. Comment below if you want to see my favorite side table transformations!

For farmhouse or mid-century pieces, like the Isai 3 Legs End Table ($66.99) scour your local FB groups and garage sales or make it yourself if you are handy!

4. Rolling Carts

Rolling carts look great everywhere – they can hold baby essentials in a nursery, refreshments on your front porch, towels and lotions in a bathroom, books in a reading nook, or anywhere else you need a ton of storage in a small space. I love rolling carts! I have one next to my sink to dry utensils on, one in my master bath, and one in my son’s room. They are usually under $100 and super functional!

5. Side Boards and Buffets

Buffets have moved beyond stuffy, formal dining rooms. Buffets can be styled in any room. Look at this gorgeous sideboard turned vanity!

Side boards and buffets are storage workhorses, so they can tackle a cluttered living room, bustling bathroom, or a busy mudroom.

Raunds 67.5″ Wide Sideboard ($429.99)

This is one item that can be hard to thrift. Even my local Goodwill tends to price these over $100. It can be hard to find the sweet spot between spending more for the right thing, or holding out for a DIY bargain.

One tip I have is to search “cabinet” rather than “buffet” or “sideboard” when browsing Marketplace or Craigslist. Sometimes using a different word pulls up different results than what everyone else is searching for.
